Hollywood glamor in London: U.S. actor George Clooney and his wife of 17 years, the British-Lebanese lawyer Amal, made an appearance worth seeing on the red carpet on Sunday. While the actor came to the film festival on the occasion of his new drama “The Tender Bar,” starring Ben Affleck, in an elegant dark suit with a white shirt and dark tie, she appeared in far more spectacular attire.
She wore a white strapless sequin dress with a small train that skillfully showcased her waist. According to Mail Online, it was a creation by 16Arlington. She completed her look with a white feather boa and a pair of classic ivory pumps.
Her sparkling earrings were perfectly coordinated with the outfit. The 43-year-old wore her dark hair down with a loose side parting, while the bright red lipstick provided a colorful accent.
George Clooney makes political statement
During an interview with BBC’s Andrew Marr, the 60-year-old actor and director ruled out a second career in politics, but he didn’t hold back on a comment.
Clooney, a longtime supporter of U.S. President Joe Biden, described the U.S. as a country still recovering from the damage caused by Donald Trump. Of Trump personally, he said, “He was just a moron. I knew him before he became president. He was just a guy who chased girls. Every time you went out, he would ask, ‘What’s the girl’s name?’ That was it.”
On his age: “It doesn’t matter how much you work out”
Asked if he intended to run for president, Clooney quickly dismissed the question. “No, because actually I want to have a nice life,” the actor said, explaining his decision this way: “I turned 60 this year, and I had a conversation with my wife, and we worked a lot, as we both do, and I said that we have to consider these years as the happy years.”
In 20 years, he will be 80, and that is “a real house number,” Clooney said. “It doesn’t matter how much you exercise, what you eat, you’re 80, and that’s why I said we need to make sure we enjoy those years and live as well as we can.” George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin said yes in the fall of 2014. In June 2017, their joint twins Ella and Alex were born.
