LEEDS need to bring in one or two more players in order to challenge hard for promotion this season.
Leeds suffered play-off heartbreak last time out but managed to keep hold of Marcelo Bielsa as they plan to go one step further this season.
Bielsa’s side are among the favourites to take home the league title alongside Fulham and Cardiff, but ex-England striker Darren Bent doesn’t think they’re all set just yet.
Bent thinks that although Leeds will have another good season, in order to have a good chance of automatic promotion, they needs at least one more addition.
“I said last season that whoever finished above Leeds would get promoted, and that proved to be the case,” Bent told Football Insider.
“I think it will be the same again, and they can have another very good season.
“I can see them challenging hard for promotion and finishing in the top three again.
“But they need to strengthen and bring in one or two before the window shuts.”
Leeds take on Bristol City in their opening league fixture on Sunday as they travel to Ashton Gate looking for three points.
Former Argentina boss Bielsa revealed earlier this week why he chose to stay after some deliberation in the summer, and mentioned the club’s passion and culture.
“When you say ‘Leeds United’ you are talking about a big thing,” said Bielsa
“When you are talking about ‘Marching on Together’ that is a sentence that is very clear.
“The link connects everybody when you belong like this.
“This is a thing that I feel for my second year here.
“There’s not much like it in the rest of the world.
There are a lot of clubs who are better than Leeds United – but not all of them are better than Leeds in terms of this feeling that unites everybody, with this passion and culture.
“Our hope and vision is very clear, but if we talk about the things that happened last season, being too negative is not good, we have to find a point in the middle.”
