With 31 goals, Robin Quaison is Mainz 05’s record scorer in the Bundesliga. But his time with the “Nullfünfern” is over. The European Championship player is moving to the Gulf region.
Swedish international footballer Robin Quaison is leaving Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 on a free transfer to Saudi Arabia. The striker joins first division club Al-Ettifaq and receives a three-year contract there, the host club announced on Thursday. Quaison’s contract in Mainz had expired.
The attacker had come to Mainz from Palermo in 2017 and has since scored 31 Bundesliga goals. This makes the 27-year-old the best FSV scorer in Germany’s top division. At the European Championship, Quaison was eliminated with Sweden in the round of 16 and failed to score a goal of his own.
